Because I think everyone needs to see dancing Nori.
With bonus Peter Jackson apparently thinking, "I don't want to know what they're doing behind my back, do I?"
More Nori dancing:
Also, dancing with Nori and Bifur:
And now, for Bombur dancing (sort of):
And now for Dean O'Gorman and someone who I presume is Stephen Hunter (Bombur)... sitting in an airplane or a bus, I'm not sure which. Probably a bus. Airplanes do not have windows that big, generally.
Also, Dwarves having too much fun in the Pelorus River filming the barrel sequence:
Bofur seems to have liked it:
Bofur in Laketown (I'm betting you anything they stay with Bard's family, and that will be hilarious since Bard's daughters are played by James Nesbitt's daughters... the potential!):
Bofur's ability to hang on to his hat and scarf is truly phenomenal. I'm wondering if he uses superglue... Nope, wait a moment. I think when Bilbo opens the door to the group of Dwarves at Bag End Bofur is in the front and falls flat at Bilbo's feet. I think his hat might actually come off there. Must check for it the next time I watch AUJ.

Yet Another Post In My Attempt to Spread Jed Brophy Appreciation
...Because, seriously, the man is amazing and deserves all the appreciation we can give him.
First, another gifset explaining the basic reasons why we should appreciate Jed Brophy:
Let's also not forget this one:
Rrider of Rohan Jed Brophy!
I would also like to take a moment to share a picture I found on Tumblr. Someone claimed: "James Nesbit (Bofur) is probably the silliest of all the Hobbit actors."
Some one else retorted: "Are you sure?" and posted this picture:
*dying of laughter*
The tags on this post? # NO WAIT THAT'S NOT SILLY #THAT'S UNBELIEVABLE
This is also a good opportunity for the long-threatened Jed Brophy Twitter Appreciation Post I am indebted to this person for finding these all). So, therefore, without further ado, let us commence.
Yes, he roleplays as Nori on Twitter. Seriously.
Both gross and hilarious. This cast... I'd also like to know who thought it would be a great idea to ask the cast that!! Seriously. I could think of so many better things to ask them.
Yes, he talks in rhyme for no reason. He also refers to himself as 'jedi', usually signing his twitters with 'xxjedi'. (Humorously, this conversation continued with Graham asking, "You wear pyjamas?" leading to at least one Tumblrite wondering if this means Graham doesn't wear them, lol.)
He really wants to be in Dean's photoshoot. I hope he got to be in it. Really, Dean, how could you say no??
Have I converted anyone yet? XD

More Proof That Jed Brophy Is Awesome
And, as you may know if you have lurked on Tumblr, as I have, the comments can be the best part about a gifset. So it is here:
| Jed Brophy is a BOSS
| | In which Jed and Nori are actually the same person.
If you don't get the joke, Nori is supposed to be rather... um.. stick-fingered, shall we say? As Jed says in the production vlog #3, "You'd never invite Nori [to dinner] because he would steal all the silverware."
Of course, then some people questioned why they needed a burglar when they already had Nori. Well, Nori is a Dwarf, and he's not too stealthy at moving around. Plus, the dragon will still know the scent of a Dwarf. Hobbits are uber-stealthy and Smaug would have no idea what sort of creature they were. So now you know.

And The Madness Continues
Yay! People like pictures! People like Sherlock pictures! (Okay, my sister doesn't usually get them, but I post other things that she likes, so all is well... hopefully...)
I don't know why, but I thought these two were absolutely hysterical:
The funny thing is, if you watch The Hobbit with subtitles you can catch a lot of what the other Dwarves are saying in the background. As Bilbo walks away from the campfire to give the bowls of stew to Fili and Kili just before the troll scene, you can hear Gloin saying something like: "That was very good stew, Bombur!" Then Nori chimes in with: "Yeah, maybe even Dori could have made it!"
I don't know why, but I thought these two were absolutely hysterical:
And then here we have holiday!Balin, dressed up like Santa Claus... Honestly, I've already started referring to him as 'the Santa Claus Dwarf', for the benefit of those people who didn't memorize all the Dwarves' names long ago.
Thinking of which, in cal 3 today (my favorite class - we have such fun and such interesting discussions. I'm not even being sarcastic!) somehow we started talking about reading and one guy said that The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings are okay, but that, "There are better science fiction writers out there."
My response? The only proper response:
Take that!
This one, however, is a bit nicer:
Yes, I do pity them, Dumbledore. They have no idea what they are missing - what great characters they could be rooting for, what great villains they would wish to see toppled, what great happy fandoms they could be rejoicing with... what great tears they could be sobbing, also, for it is part of a fangirl's lot in life to shed a few tears now and then. Sad things happen in just about every fandom.
Now this is either priceless or downright scary. Or both:
Bahahahahahaha! I can't look at it without cracking up. Basically, you can take anything and add Smeagol/Gollum and it instantly becomes 200% funnier. Someone has probably scientifically proven that. If not, they should. Put science to a worthy cause and all that.
This is NOT my art, once again; it belongs to papermachette on Tumblr (which is mysteriously not letting my lurk on it, grr).
Dori's reaction: "Hilarious."
Also, when Bilbo is running to catch up with the Dwarves, you can hear Dori talking about how going to meet Bilbo was useless since he would be too timid to come along with them anyway. Gloin agrees with him. Bilbo, of course, shows up at that moment.
(Humorously, you can see Gloin having a hard time with his pony at this point. Interviews with the actors also revealed that Graham McTavish, a.k.a. Dwalin, had a hard time with ponies in general. Since another movie he's in, a western, is coming out soon, the other actors were heckling him by asking him how he dealt with the horses in it. He said, deadpan, "I shot them.")
I also find it funny that the three who bet that Bilbo would show up were: Gandalf (who had the idea to bring Bilbo along in the first place), Oin (who is deaf and therefore still believes Bilbo is an expert), and Kili. Awww, that was awfully sweet of you, Kili, trusting that Bilbo would come along. Kili does seem to take a shine to Bilbo - notice he attacks the troll before any other Dwarf, and is very concerned for him when the trolls threaten to rip his arms off.
Oh, and my response to the Bilbo Adventure Time thing is this:
Done by lissinator on Tumblr. She does wonderful art (including a lot of genderbending Dwarves, which I don't mind near so much as slash - in fact, it can be pretty funny and/or awesome under the right circumstances), so go check it out. Yes, I'm too lazy to put in a link at the moment.
I've always said that, based on the number of times they repeat, "We are the fighting Uruk-hai!" in the book, they should have some sort of song and dance routine to go along with it...

Random Nori Appreciation Post
I don't know why I'm doing this, but I think it's time for some of the Dwarves who are not as much appreciated as, say, Kili (because I'm fairly sure most of the younger womenfolk on Tumblr are in love with him and/or Aidan Turner, poor guy) to get some love, too. And one of the ones who gets left out a lot is Nori, presumably because of his starfish hair.
This is Nori. Nori with knives.
This is Nori on a pony.
Here is a fan's epic rendering of Nori. (Not my art of course, and I cannot seem to find out whose it was. My searches only led me back to vg247.com, whatever that may be.)
I told you it was quite epic. Pretty yellow and orange swooshes and a pick that he doesn't really have in the movie... Nor is he wearing those clothes... But anyway! It reminds me of the opening cutscene from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, where Ike, Soren, and Titania all get their 'hero moments'. Titania has red swooshes around her poleax, Soren has green swooshes since he uses wind magic (some time I should really share my love of FE on this blog), and Ike has blue swooshes, which match his hair. XP Because video game characters love to be color-coordinated.
Now, Nori is played by Jed Brophy. Jed Brophy has been in many of Peter Jackson's movies, even in all three of The Lord of the Rings, though you probably didn't realize it was him at the time. Here's why:
Can you say, "MIND. BLOWN."???
(I really need to get a reaction gif for that...)
Oh, and it doesn't stop there! He wasn't just various orcs (yes, he was the orc who was partly responsible for Aragorn's 'tumble off the cliff'), Nazgul, and Nori, he was also a Rider of Rohan!
See? I told you.
And it doesn't stop there!! He was another Rider, with a helmet, and he was also an Elf extra!
LOL. Ssshhh, don't tell Thorin. We have to keep it a secret for Nori. After all, if we don't, he might show up and put Lobelia Sackville-Baggins to shame by stealing all our silverware...
(Obviously, I've memorized all the funny dialogue from the production videos...)
Now, Nori gets two lines as far as I can tell in TH:AUJ, and the focus is on him for only one of them- "I think I saw him slip away when they first collared us," referring to Bilbo escaping the goblins. However, in rewatching the movie Sunday night I noticed in Bag End when Balin says something to the effect of, "But we number just thirteen, and not thirteen of the best or brightest," someone calls out, "Hey! Who're you calling dim?" On closer inspection, it is Nori on the far right of the shot who is saying that. So he has at least two lines.
He also growls at the Elves when they circle the Dwarves on horseback in Rivendell, and he also growls at the goblins in Goblintown after Gandalf tells them to take up arms and fight. Quite a scrappy fellow, indeed. I think he tosses Orcrist to Thorin so he can fend off the Great Goblin (unfortunately, we've all started to call him the Goblin King... *head bang*). He also seems to lose his stick in Goblintown and picks up a goblin saber or something.
No, I didn't notice most of this on my own (I did notice that he said, "Who're you calling dim?" all on my own, though), but I saw the lists of Geeky Observations on TheOneRing.net and made a small list of my own of things to look for when I watch the movie. I've still got one thing left on my list of stuff to look for- apparently in the aftermath of the Stone Giants Bifur can be seen signing to the other Dwarves in iglishmek, or the Dwarven sign language. Usually I'm too focused on Bofur's expression there and the fact that Thorin calls out, "Kili!" instead of "Fili!" (lol, even their uncle can't keep them straight).
Must. Share. Pic. Of. Bofur's. Hilarious. Face.
Toasters are evil. Actually, we don't even have a toaster. We have a toaster oven. I rarely use it. However, that does remind me, I ate five hours ago and now I am hungry again... Hmm... And I really don't want/need the remainders of Easter candy...
Maybe I'll go looking for sausages. Unless Nori has stolen them all. Then I'll hunt down Bofur, because he will have stolen them from Nori. And I'm sure Ridiculously Lovely Bofur will be nice enough to share sausages with me. :)

Bofur, you okay?
All right, now that I've shared that picture and derailed this post, I might as well add something funny I saw related to it...
