Rene Descartes Explains the Internet
Rene Descartes was a famous mathematician of the 1600's or so, who was a tutor to Queen Christian of Sweden (I think it was Sweden, not Norway...). She eventually abdicated the throne so she could convert to Catholicism and is buried (I think) in the Vatican, having lived the rest of her life in Rome.
Descartes himself had some weird philosophical thoughts... For instance, he did not seem to view animals as truly alive, but rather as complex machines. Yeah, too much math will do weird things to you...
In Pace Christi,
Elyse
